What you’ll need:
Our gold-medal-winning Strawberry Balsamic Vinegar is perfect for this sweet dish as its distinct sweet flavour brings out the richness of fresh strawberries in every bite! This dish is so quick and easy to prepare which makes it even more appealing.
1x 500g strawberries, hulled, halved
3x tbsp icing sugar mixture
2x tbsp Strawberry balsamic vinegar
1x cup thick cream
4x Meringue nests
How to make:
- Combine sugar and balsamic in a bowl and mix well, until it becomes a rich sticky sauce.
- Add the strawberries, BUT DO NOT STIR, this action will break them up and that destroys the flavour.
- Simply toss in the bowl a few times until thoroughly coated. Refrigerate for about 15 minutes.
- Place the meringue nests in a dessert dish, and gently fill each nest with the strawberry vinegar mix.
- Take a teaspoonful of the thick cream and carefully lay it atop the strawberries.
- You can if you wish finish off the dish by lightly drizzling a few extra drops of the strawberry balsamic.
This dish is a divine sweet combination that is even nicer when served with a glass of Sauternes or other dessert wine. Enjoy!
