Because tea was deemed a principal part of the war effort and the act of making and drinking tea, was a time for bonding, raising morale and keeping one’s spirits up, it was an important beverage for the war effort.
Best way to make your historic cup of tea:
- Take your teapot and warm it with a swill of hot water first.
- Measure 1 teaspoon of tea per person and add to the pot.
- Pour in boiling water.
- Brew time 4-6 minutes.
- Serve with milk and a little sugar.
- Sit back and reminisce about the old days.
